Better late than never, this week has been a busy week full of prepping for moving to a new house, coordinating schedules so I can go to interviews, occupying 4 little ones while living in a hotel, and looking for daycares to send our youngest to. So I meant to write this post Monday but time got away from me.
Happy Father’s Day to all of you dads out there. There are so many amazing men that deserve to be spoiled on this special day. We had a blast celebrating with my husband, James, but wish we were closer to our loved ones to celebrate with them as well.
We let James pick the event for the day. He picked something we have never done before, it was an old school arcade. (I really wish I got pictures of this, but was too involved with get helping the kids with all the games to take any.) They had everything from arcade machines to pinball machines. Our kids enjoyed playing some of the games we grew up playing, and we enjoyed playing those games again as well.
It was a great blast tothe past that was complete with old fashion sundaes, fountain drinks, and even a root beer float, which has inspired us to purchase an ice cream churn. The debate we are now having is electric or manual? My husband thinks the kids will enjoy churning the ice cream themselves, I am worried it will not get much use because I will end up being the one to churn it. If you have any suggestions for type or would like to weigh in your opinion please do so below to help us make a decision.
