We had a short commute today in comparison to the last 2 days. We arrived in Des Monies after only 3 hours in the car. The kids once again impressed us with how well they did.
We went to a little outdoor dive bar for lunch, which we chose purely on the fact that Hunter could come with us and our hotel room was not ready for us to go in to yet. The food was okay but the kids loved all the outdoor activities that they had there.
We walked along the river for a little while and even crossed the Red Bridge. It was absolutely beautiful. The weather was so drastically different. It was in the 80’s today and there was a nice breeze and no humidity. That is something that I will enjoy.
After only a couple of hours in our hotel room we got a call from the front desk saying that the people below us were complaining that someone was jumping above them. After spending the last 3 days trapped in a car, I cannot blame the kids for their excitement and energy that they had.
After we ate dinner, I decided that a good way to burn off some of that energy would be to take them to the pool. They loved it. The hotel has a beautiful indoor pool that was the perfect temperature. We were probably down there for about an hour when one of the kids slipped on the pool deck and bumped his head. We had to go back up to our room to get some ice.
It was another great day of adventure for us.
