We are so close to closing the door on our North Carolina home. We have an offer that we have accepted, and the house has been inspected. All we have left is to dot our I’s and cross our T’s. As much as we loved that home, we know it brings us one step closer to where we want to be.
Our next step is to meet with an Iowa realtor and chose what route we want to take for our next home. There are so many options that I am just starting to learn more about. We know we want land, (one of James’ must haves is acreage) but do we purchase land with a preexisting home or do we build a home? If we build, do we want to go stick built, pre-fab, or metal building?
Over the next few weeks we would like to start meeting with builders to see what the cost would be to build the three types mentioned above and the pros and cons of each.
We know if we build, we will need time for construction to be completed before we can move in, so we need to get the ball rolling. If you have any experience with any of the options mentioned above, please leave a comment below with some pros and cons for us to consider.
