I am sneaking in a few moments of peace and quiet before the kids wake up and the unpacking for the day begins. I am so exhausted from unpacking yesterday but know there is so much more to do.
Yesterday our stuff finally arrived, the shell we have been calling home since Friday is finally being filled with beds, couches, clothes, toys, dishes and memories.
It is so nice to have some of our normal comforts unboxed and get one step closer to normal life. I feel with each step, IA begins to feel more like home, and although the chaos of unboxing brings on so much anxiety, I know there is an end in sight.
My kids cannot wait to make friends and they run outside anytime they think they hear other kids. Next week I start my new job, and we are starting to talk more about our future house and what we would like from it. We both have things we don’t want to budge on for our next home. I will be posting a list of must haves soon. None of that actually matters until we sell our old house, of course.
Right now we are looking into the cost to build versus the cost to buy a pre-existing home that we may have to tweak to make work for us. We have never built and don’t want to live in a neighborhood. If you have any experience with this, please let me know your thoughts on the comments below.
